Old Nikon 35mm scanner

I've just set up my LS-2000 and gotta say, it's awesome.

I've been pulling out years of old negs, scanning and sending to friends.

It was a bit of a PITA to set up as it's SCSI, and the nikon software didn't run on my computer so I had to use vuescan.

All in all though for US$100 from the bay it's a fantastic bargain.

Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy, I used an LS-2000 for years until it just stopped working. I like the automation in the Nikon software but it was designed for something earlier than Vista and XP - I think I was using Windows 2000 pro.

Cheers

Yeah the vuescan is fine, it can automatically scan all the frames too if you want. I just didn't want to have to pay for it, that's all :)

Vuescan Pro (with free lifetime updates) is a bargain at the price. You can drive almost any decent scanner ever made in Wintel or Mac, and it supports multiple scanners (unlike silverfast say). The interface is good and the control you get is excellent.
