Odd Looking Dali Opticon 2

If you look around the bass port area, the vinyl wrap appears to be bubbling. What is causing that? Overly tight screws?

I'd be worried that someone had been messing around inside them at some point.

More likely they’d been used in an damp or moisture laden environment.

Looks a bit more like the vinyl wrap has shrunk on it. Perhaps, left in a hot conservatory window? Who knows. I’m sure they’re usable. Are these rare or interesting speakers? Is that a cheap price?

I imagine it’s (for whatever reason) a cosmetic issue. I wouldn’t bother, but if someone really wanted a pair and the price was cheap I’m sure they’d be ok.

Well, I’d say the Dune-esque/Baron Harkonnen bubbling of the rear panel certainly qualifies as “exceptional.”

I think Eoin has called it, looks like vinyl shrinkage from long-term sun exposure.
