The £40k would be pro rata, so the sucessful applicant will not be earning £40 k for 18.5 hours. The advert has a Band 8a payscale. Every public sector organisation has a duty to ensure that equality and diversity is embedded across the organisation and it does need someone to take a lead/ monitor etc.

Unfortunately, the role isn't an easy job ,and , the post holder will need to deal with quite a bit of 'racial illiteracy' which you may or may not be aware of ..
