That's a shame, the standard 8 is superb. Might I be cheeky and suggest that other factors may have been at play other than the amp?

I thought you were looking to spend around £800 in total for poweramp and MDAC? You should be able to find a S/H 8XPd-QX for around £800, since its an amp/DAC you don't need anything else..

That's an idea but not a guaranteed budget but this may change

One thing I will be doing is a lot of demoing with the Xeo 3's up there along with the Rega Brio R and Cyrus 8XPd amps and a DAC (unsure which) and the same with the Audiolab MDAC and Cyrus XPower etc...

Its a cracking amp, i demo'd one with and without PSXR into Dynaudio F140's. Frontend was iTunes, very impressive.
