After a restructuring and renaming of the company it seems that Rollei are now using the old name of Franke & Heidecke. After some years making a wide-angle version of the TLR they have finally brought out the tele version, which was a much sought after portrait camera in its original form.
I used to own a 2.8GX and it produced superb photographs, though it was a little slow to focus. At 1.275kg it was quite portable for a medium format camera and being mechanical would work in a sub-zero mountain climate.
