We are delighted to announce that the brand new Klimax DSM will be available from DNA Audio in Otley.
This next generation Klimax product features not only a new look but brand new 5th generation DAC. This new DAC architecture is called Organik. This is the first in house full DAC implementation from Linn and pushes the performance of the Klimax DSM streamer and pre-amplifier forward significantly with 20dB lower distortion than previous models.
The latest DSM now has 3 analogue inputs so is more flexible than the previous generation DSM. It is available in three models, 2 channel only, AV (which adds HDMI switching) and also as a system Hub (no analogue outputs so to be used with Linn active loudspeakers Via the Exakt links).
The casework and display has moved on significantly with the older small blue display gone and replaced by a panoramic display set behind a glass font panel. Inside the analogue and digital sections are partitioned off to maximise performance. The casework alone takes 8 hours of machining on their massive 5 axis machining centre using 80 different diamond tipped cutting tools.
There are 8 circuit boards in the new DSM with the main audio boards being 8 layer PCBs with over 900 electronic components. These multiple layer boards allow for optimal signal routing and control of noise as some inner layers act as ground layers to protect critical signal paths from noise.
Pricing for the 2 channel and AV variants is £30,000 and the system hub is £15,000. We can offer a generous part exchange for your outgoing DSM or DS unit.
