New internal wire for classic Tannoy speakers?

Speakers are Tannoy 15 HPD's.
Is there any point in changing the 2 bell wire thin original wires to the crossover and 4 equally puny wires up to the cone / tweeter for something more audiophile?
I don't listen to these mega loud so wattage is low...

If so what would you recommend?

So far I've just cleaned all contacts and made sure they were secure. The energy level switches were getting a little scratchy but some switch cleaner fixed them a treat.
All the caps on the crossovers are rectangular yellow plastic type.

A nice listening test this morning proved they are sounding mighty good...

I'm no fan of ****y wire but anything better than bell wire is worthwhile IMO. I would avoid solid as it's brittle and might crack under the vibration. Something like QED 79 or good old multistrand mains of decent section is worthwhile. You could experiment with twisting the pairs to reduce EMI in the speaker.

Hi Steve,
I don't know if you'll get an improvement with a rewire, but if i was going to do it, i'd use a good studio-grade cable like Mogami or Van damme - 2.5mm should be more than adequate.

I just did the same the other night. Thought the wiring looked ok. but remade the Lucar type spades.
