I won’t buy a valve amp, I have a 3 year old son. Soooo it romains Unico pre dm, but it seems to be expansive, quad 405 but I hate the look, Sugden A21…

Much as I love the Unico DM with my Eatons, it could well be overkill with your more efficient Cheviots. Not that overkill is necessarily a bad thing. They are very hard to find second hand though.

I’m having very good results (LSU 12/8/HF Gold Monitors in Cheviot Cabs)
with a Trio KA2002, value for money off the scale if you can find one.
Very good phono stage too.
I bought mine on PFM for under £100. Well worth checking out!

I recommend a Creek 4040 S3 with vintage Cheviots. 30 watts is plenty for these speakers. Its slightly warm sound can tame the slightly rough sound of the dual concentric horn. Works for me.
