naim streaming multi room Q

does anyone know if the naim nd5xs2 can stream simultaneously with a muso qb2 ?
I think this is what’s called multi room ?
I can’t get this to work on my earlier model
nd5xs if one units on the others off so curious to know

All Naim streamers should work with each other in multiroom groups, with the exception of first generation models if they are on very old firmware.
 
excuse my ignorance but is the ND5XS count as an earlier model ?
( this would then account for why I can’t get it to stream multi room)

It counts as a 1st generation streamer, but it’s the firmware that it runs that determines whether or not it does multiroom. You need it to run version 3.21 or later for multiroom, so only a very old ND5XS that has never been updated wouldn’t support it.

i can see that the nd5xs is running firmware 4.7 but still I can’t get it to play itself and the Qb2 at the same time
Do I need to change some settings to allow this ?
 
Then multiroom should work, although the latest firmware version is 4.8, and while multiroom should work on 4.7 I would run the update anyway.

Can you confirm that you are looking in the right place to enable multiroom:
Is multiroom enabled in the ND5XS Input Settings menu?
In the Naim app, when you open the Play Queue screen do you see a button in the bottom R corner consisting of four little squares? Tap that to select multiroom controls.
Some Hi-Res formats can’t be multiroomed. To be sure, select a regular 16/44.1 file which should work.

really appreciate your help with that
Radio now playing in sync on Muso and ND5XS
now to try to figure out how to update the firmware to 4.8 !
