Naim or Cyrus

Conan, not compared anything yet. just trying to get some feedback from this forum. Reaction is mixed really.

its about space really. Naim is an all in one, and the Cyrus is shoebox. Any others that fit this mould will be great. Looked at the older MF X series as well but not really sure about the MF stuff

Rega has some nice shoebox sized equipment. Definitely worth a try.

Or an M-DAC into a power amp.

I have had both cyrus and naim and they DO sound quite different , cyrus is more detailed but thinner sounding and lacks a bit of bass slam . Naim is more about prat , but does not have as much detail and can sound a bit harsh on some recordings . If you wish to try cyrus the 8 vs2 is good vfm , the 8 se2 is good but latest se2 spec is needed to avoid a few glitches . I personally like both in their different ways

I've run the 8VS2 for some years now with Proac D15s, and never felt I was missing out on anything, but then I like detail and clarity, which this gives in spades.
