NAD d3020 v2 volume and heat

Anyone else using the NAD d3020 v2?
I use it with Neat Iota Alphas as a TV system.

When power cycled, the NAD volume defaults to something way to quiet to be useful.
To get round that, I leave the amp powered on but it gets hot.

Am I alone?

Nope; it's fine, that's how it is...

Had the D3020, the D3045 and the D7050 and they all got hot

Yes, they do seem to get rather warm. Maybe it’s something to do with the class of amplification they use. And maybe they just use the whole chassis & case as a heat sink rather than having a dedicated section for that task?
The d3020 from memory needs to run at quite high volume settings before it feels loud & alive enough? But that may just be down to choice of speaker.
Nice vfm amp though.
