Music Hall Dac

Music Hall gear consistantly gets great reviews and have enticing prices.

I've never liked a single piece of Music Hall gear I've heard, and I've heard quite a bit. It always sounds too warm, slow, laid back, a bit muddy, dull, and just plain boring to my ears. Oddly enough, I really like my Pro-Ject 1Xpression turntable, which is made in the same plant as the Music Hall counterpart that shares a lot of parts.

Music Hall has sucked the life out of every system I've heard their gear in. A lot of people like their stuff, and I have no problem with that. If you can audition it with little to no financial commitment, it's worth a shot. If you're buying it blindly, it's a crap shoot.

I really like this DAC (I have one). But it needs a good digital source, otherwise it is nothing special (I use Naim HDX).

But I like the Rega DAC more (have it also). But these two sound very different, taste dependend what you prefer.
