Modushop Cases - Fantastic service

Just wanted to write a post to highly recommend modushop.biz for any DIY projects you have (plus there is a 10% discount for PFM members!).

I bought a case from them last year for a NCC200 build and loved it, but I have just started a gainclone build and needed a bit of customisation. Gianluca was massively helpful and even managed to turn my very basic sketch of how I would like the back panel to look in to a professional CAD drawing.... and today the case was despatched.... all within about 3 working days from my first contact to despatch. I know from the NCC200 case as well that these are top quality enclosures too.

It's always good to have reliable and helpful suppliers who are willing to help out when you need to, so wanted to throw this in there.

How does the bottom plate look like ?
Is it strong enough to support big trannies ?

Well for the NCC200 I had this 800VA beast (encased in metal) http://sklep.toroidy.pl/en_US/p/TTS...rade-transformer-TSAS800VA-voltage-to-50V/418 plus a 120VA version as well for the input. The bottom plate took the M8 fixing bolts and does not sag or budge a bit. Solid.

But I didnt really need the heatsinks for that one. I think one of the galaxy cases would suit it better (and be cheaper).

Both with 3mm aluminium covers top and bottom.

If I have a big transformer I normally put a little right angle bracket in the middle of the base plate fixed to the front and back panel, get them from B&Q
To save drilling and tapping the front panel I glue it to it with JB weld
You could also fix a strip of 1/2" alloy angle in there to give more strength
