I keep mine next to mint Lecson pre and power, and also a restored Yamaha 800GL cassette deck. All true 70s classics...well, at least to my eyes.

Now that has to be the HI-Fi eq of owning a Pristine Alfa Montreal....

Just an update!



I'm really enjoying using the Michell/228/Troika; my main deck (an LP12/Aro/Pre-fix/Norton/XX2MkII) is boxed up at the moment, and I haven't felt any immediate need to un-box it! TBH, I'm really enjoying using the Troika again too.

Lovely thread - does anyone have any experience of the latest incarnation of the Transcriptors Reference deck with the much thicker/heavier platter?

Lovely restoration work, well done! I have one of the Transcriptors Hydraulic Reference decks waiting in the wings for a full restoration (ok...it's been waiting many years!) and may be spurred on to do it having seen the results you've achieved.

Surprised to see the old thread revived, but it was interesting to look back at the project!

I'm using five turntables now:

2) Lenco GL88/Audiomods/Metal bodied 103
3) Custom mounted Stanton ST150/Rega RB202/Rega Carbon
4) Linn LP12/Kore/Lingo/Audio Origami modified Rega RB250/Dynavector DV20XL
5) Michell Hydraulic Reference/Modified Hadcock GH228/Linn Troika

But it's the Michell that always catches visitors eyes!
