Does anyone have any experience of using the Meridian 218 “preamp”?
I am looking to use it for a Chromecast audio optical input and to plug a turntable via phono stage into the analogue rca input then use the coax digital output into my digitial DSP preamp (Minidsp Nanodigi) which runs the crossover for a pair of three way speakers (via a Rotel RMB1066 Poweramp).
Specifically, does the control software work when using a Wi-Fi bridge/extender. I don’t have a router near the unit and so running a Wi-Fi extender and then cable to the 218 would be the only way to control it (via app or another PC). The only other way is to find a G12 IR sensor and a second hand MSR remote as I can’t find any compatible IR sensors doing a google.
Anyway, any thoughts on this unit would be very welcome. Thanks in advance.
