Hi,

The quiet buzz about the Orbit looks good, but a direct comparison with Lingo,armageddon or observations from Orbit/LP12 users would be nice.

Interesting question, given that used Lingo prices vary quite a bit, the Orbit 1 to me seems an affordable alternative. But how do the both compare ? and how much of a step up is the Orbit 1 from the Valhalla ?

If you don't need 45..

You have three options.

1. OH your Valhalla.
2. Armageddon - DIY or Naim.
3 Norton Airpower - SH or DIY

I chose the latter as my preference.

If you want 33 and 45 on a budget ,you have two options..

Heed Orbit 1 or Mose Hercules. Either of these are are a great little upgrade.

Finally as a wildcard; SH (serviced) Lingo, but compared to the Heed and Mose it's overrated IMHO.

thanks John for your views on this. I am drawn to the idea of an external power supply and The Heed is one I am considering.
