I know its basic but looking to store in apple lossless and wanted to know if this was correct.

2TB hard drive will store 2500 CD's at around 800mb per disc.

The 800mb disk be reduced in size by the apple lossless to 60% (so I have read) so that 800 becomes 480mb which would = 4166 disks (formatting and other whatnot aside)

Dont want to make a big mistake now, and learn after tons of ripping I've done he wrong thing!

My advice, rip to aiff, and buy another 2TB disk. With my system, I can hear the difference.

I bought a WD 2TB for $70 at Target. Why worry
