Logic datum arm base plug

Hi everyone, does anyone have any ideas of how to get the plug in the base of this Logic Datum off

I want to rewire the arm with some silver litz cable and hope to fit a std din socket, but I can't see how this is fixed. There doesn't appear to be any grub screw. I haven't tried forcing it in anyway as I don't want to damage anything.

If anyone has any ideas I would be most grateful! :D

(Of course I meant 'Logic' Datum, and I haven't even had a drink yet!)

The connector used is a standard 2.54mm pitch header by the looks of it. These are normally designed for PCB use rather than fixing to a chassis. Zooming in on the pic, it looks like it is glued to the metal work. There appears to be no seam around the base where the connector could be screwed out, so my guess is the connector was inserted from above so perhaps the whole bearing assembly needs to be removed from the arm to get access down the mounting tube.

Looks rather tricky.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Cheers

Thanks Arfer, I think you may be on to something there. At least I may be able to do a rewire but keep the same 'plug' arrangement and glue it back. Hopefully someone else may have actual experience.

I don't fancy touching the rest of it and possibly ruining the bearings.

Cheers
