Late 1980s Rega Planar 3 - Motor Mounting Maintenance?

This 'backup' TT lies idle for much of the time, and the last time I used it, it seemed like the motor was wobbling around too much, or the drive belt wasn't riding properly on the drive pully; I couldn't quite get a handle on what was happening, but it seemed like the drive belt was wandering, and I was getting strange intermittent rubbing noises as it did so. The drive belt was, at the time, a brand new one.

I plan on digging it out and having a go at sorting it out sometime soon; meanwhile, has anyone replaced motors, serviced, or re-aligned them on this vintage of Planar 3? Or have any other speculative advice on what my first step should be?

I changed mine a few years ago

Think I bought a kit off eBay with the mounting bands and a drive belt?

My motor was starting to sag a little before that

I would go for the 24v kit as the difference it makes it quite big.

If you just want to sort what you have, another thing to check is the position of the plastic pulley on the motor. They can ride up and end up hitting the underside of the platter. They can slip too but it doesn't sound like that's the problem you're having.
