Great thread! I have had a couple of jvc super a amps.

toprepairman (on this site) Henry has been servicing lots of JVC kit over the years and knows them very well. He sorted mine for me.

In fact He was senior engineer and New South Wales service manager for JVC in Sydney Australia in the 80's.

Really nice guy, reasonable repair prices, and he really is a top repair man :)

Holy cow batman!

Looking further that Reimyo has a 20-bit chipset, whereas the 1010's is 18-bit. I don't know how much difference that would make to the performance. Not surprising though as the Reimyo dates from around 2004. Apparently it cost a little over $5000 when new.

The SU-AX7 is a current model - I've no idea how good something like that would be, but it isn't going to have the power of the 1010 as it's a dinky little headphone amp.

Regards,
Nick

Flatpopely,

Like you, I have always struggled to gain satisfaction from CD (easy with vinyl), so I'm am utterly intrigued by this thread.

What is it about this DAC/Amp's performance that has won you over, in respect of CD replay?
