I'm in the process of designing a 2 tier slate plinth (50mm) for my 401 what are your thoughts on a separate arm board tony?

I have no thoughts on that really. Initially I thought it was a bit daft separating it, i.e. not having a 'closed loop', but I'm not sure how much logic applies to these things. I went for a very simple 450 x 450 x 40mm plinth myself, I just picked it up today. I've stuck a pic on my 301 thread.

Not Tony, but my thoughts are it is a good idea as long as both are rigidly coupled to the same ground, if nothing else it gives you a lot of choice with arm length and geometry.. , not to be tried on anything other than a SOLID foundation..
