A good point. My experience may not be typical but my current 6.7m x 3.4 m room is smaller than previous rooms I have had. I have been perusing floor plans for a potential house move and I have been disappointed so far to rarely find anything even that big. The impression I have is that "more smaller rooms" frequently trumps "fewer bigger rooms", especially with modern builds.Smaller than when though? I've lived in a few Victorian / Edwardian terraced houses with really small living rooms, and can't think that I've been in many/any modern houses that have been smaller. Mind you some of the new houses seem to have internal walls made of matchsticks and cardboard, and that can't help things. Plus they can have odd partially open plan arrangements that may make positioning a traditional hifi system more challenging.
