Is £1400 cheap for early Spendor SP100?

I am convinced about the 12' cone in hifi speakers now. I loved my Spendor SP2/2s until I heard them next to an old pair of Ditton 44s. After that they sounded small. But they still have sweeter mids than the Dittons. So maybe I need a pair of SP100s....£1400 seems to be the asking price for the S100 and the SP100 but I have only managed to find 2 pairs recently advertised.

Any thoughts on their value?
 
BTW, the early SP100 for 1400Ł is a really good margin if you have enough place! (Need more than 40 square meters!)
