include an email address in facebook post - is that a bad idea?

I need to publicise a semi-public concert to be given at our place end of March. I've made a gmail address just for this, and consider to put it up on the band's facebook page where they list their tour as contact. Is this a bad idea - is it likely to get inundated with junk? Does breaking an email down to e.g. ... at gmail dot com help these days?

Thanks in advance!

Surely better to make it a specific event on fb and allow people to message you through Facebook. I do this to advertise music tuition and it works very well.

Thanks for the logical thinking. I didn't want the band to have to deal with enquiries on this so don't want them to have to deal with messages, but I guess I start a fb page just for infrequent events here and direct people there from the band's page.

someone advertised for a vacancy for an estate agent and put their email on fb this week . they were not worried about putting it down
