Not a big poster on here, but thought I'd share todays experience with you.
First my system -
CDS3 - on quadrasphere qx25 -> granite plynth -> sorbathene
282 - on quadrasphere qx 25
250 - on quadrasphere qx25
teddy xps
homebrew dual hicap - on quadrashere qx25
all this is on a spiked hifi rack and powered by a dedicated mains spur.
Speakers are Kef Reference model 1-2 spiked with shoes, with mogami cables.
This morning I received some Ixos superspikes I'd ordered off the net to have a play with, found some old slate floor tiles in the garage and placed them under the speakers with the new spikes so it looked like -
===== - speaker
V - speaker spike
~ - spike shoe
------- - granite tile
^ - Ixos spike
===== - Floor
The results are amazing, I would say a veil has been lifed, more of a curtain!!
Bass, mids, highs are just more detailed and more there.
So I guess my point is for anyone looking for more from their system it's well worth giving this a try, especially at a cost of only a few quid.
Hope this helps someone.
