They will be inaccurate because the components inside will set the filter point along with with source and load impedance of the equipment they are connected between.

E.g. If they expect a 20K Ohm load for a 2.5KHz filter point, but your equipment has a 10K Ohm load, it will make the filter point 1.25KHz.
 
That would certianly be more predictable in its performance since the op-amps provide a known and fixed impedance to the filters.
