Impulse!/Jasmine

Just bagged a couple of Jasmine reissues of Impulse! LPs - Benny Carter - Further Definitions and Coleman Hawkins - Wrapped Tight. They sound fantastic. Has anyone done a comparison between a Jasmine release and its Impulse! original?

Yes, Impulse originals are definitely better again (and you get a lovely thick laminated gatefold cover), though I wouldn't be surprised if the Jasmine pressings didn't easily beat the recent in house 180g pressings as they all sound like they have been visited by the digital / compression / noise reduction fairy to my ears and vary between acceptable and pretty bad. The Jasmine I've heard have always sounded good, just not as good as a US original.

Thanks Tony. These beauties will definitely do for now until I can unearth any decent priced originals. Although I am missing the gatefold gorgeousness.

PS Just noticed my Trane - Live At The Village Vanguard Again is on Jasmine. Unfortunately this is an LP I have never been able to get into!
