Hi Dave

Whats the £101 improvement, or is it just for sale?

I was thinking of bypassing mine and just connecting a server or dedicated laptop directly to the Dac.

I believe you have also got rid of your extensive vinyl collection. Or was that a pre-condition of the council repairing the wall outside your house? Rumour had it that there was a [big] shed load of vinyl causing subsidence in the surrounding area.

Hi there Pete

my point was that I much prefer the sound of Apple TV / iTunes / apple lossless to Duet / Squeeze Server / FLAC

So my experience is that buying an Apple TV was the better option from a sound quality and convenience point of view - and I'm not about to mess with hi-res

I still have about half of my vinyl in the back bedroom but don't tell the council

And around 4000 CDs all ripped lossless to a wee server farm in the cellar

Listening to the Apple TV as I type

nothing wrong with it

until you play the same thing on CD that is
