Hifi not important to musicians?

Any musicians (or anyone for that matter) looking to get into hifi or get advice on a decent hifi probably immediately go off the idea after having a browse through a few hifi forums. ;)

Let's be honest, unless you're really into hifi it does seem like an awfully complicated pain in the **** to extract the best from a few (possibly expensive) pieces of hifi kit. And it tends to also get a lot of people really upset, with wars breaking out over discussions about the best wire to connect the speakers up with, or how to plug into the mains….. If I wasn't into hifi and I came across a hifi forum looking for advice, I'd probably run to John Lewis after ten minutes reading, buy a Bose sound dock, and never look back… :D ;) :)

Wow, I have not been here for some time. Returning today I found Taj Mahal in a thread concerning musical crap. OK, and here I have to read that Hifi is a different hobby from listening to music. All very strange to me. Or is it me becoming weird?
