Henry Cow: The World is a Problem by Ben Piekut

In the meantime......Michel Edelin has released a very interesting CD Echoes of Henry Cow, a set of several Cow and Art Bears compositions. These are improvised and harmonic interpretations rather than reconstructions, the band comprising of flute, piano, acoustic bass, woodwind and drums. I’ve ordered the CD on the strength of the piece Half The Sky which is available on YouTube. Some great playing all round, most notably pianist Sophia Domancich who isn’t afraid to use the concept of space in her playing. Ex Cow member John Greaves is also involved with some spoken text.
