Haircut One Hundred - Pelican West. Brilliant album.

Absolutely. There was some real musical talent in that band. And what a great young songwriter Nick Heyward was.

As for my guilt pleasures... the odd Girls Aloud track goes without saying (aren't they due for critical re-evaluation soon anyway?).

I also caught an old Top of the Pops on BBC4 recently and was struck by how good Cliff Richard's "We Don't Talk Anymore" is. It could easily be mistaken for a Todd Rundgren track from the same era.

I have a secret liking for Aqua's first album Aquarium. Barbie Girl, Doctor Jones and best of all Turn Back Time are all stone cold pop classics.
