I always liked the title of Ornette Coleman's record "The Shape of Jazz to Come" even before I could convince myself into proximity with any actual jazz. From memory I first read about it in what must have been the only interesting article in a guitar magazine ever which was an interview with Marc Ribot who played on Raindogs by Tom Waits. It was in stark oppostion to the usual Satriani-pandering that goes on in guitar mags and I think also convinced me to buy Marquee Moon by Television.
