Private eye has been exposing the Freeports scandal for years in much the same way it exposed the PO years before anyone else and 20 yers before someone made a tv programme. No doubt the Freeport scandal will reach the front pages two decade late as well.
Anyway, here is their latest full page special. One aspect of this scandal is that it’s a perfect illustration of how public money is funnelled into private pockets.
To highlight just one example, one Quay, built with public funds at a cost of £113m, was sold to a private company for £13.
