Folky Recommends

Indeed. Although you can't even buy the records at the moment, the Cardiacs shop is closed until Tim recovers from his heart attack. Luckily, I already have all of them, but I feel deep sorrow for those who don't :)
 
Just noticed this thread. Some great music... I have gone down this musical avenue over the last few years and discovered some excellent stuff.

More modern folk: apart from Seth Lakeman (already mentioned but he is astoundingly good live if you get a chance to see him) I would recommend Tunng, who also manage to incorporate samples into folk; and Shoreline, who are more traditional but very enjoyable.

I still find myself coming back to Sandy Denny though. And has anyone mentioned Shirley Collins?

there's a Shirley and Dolly re-release just out - bit too trad folk for my taste. Just got that Kathryn Williams/Neill Macoll thing. That's pretty good.
