I believe the younger generation, I'm 62, have gotten used to inferior digital sound, I-pods and the like. The BBC used to be at the forefront of good sound reproduction, but with DAB
have given in to mediocrity.
I noticed recently that my elderly mother in law has stopped using the dab radio that the family bought her for Xmas a couple of years ago, and has reverted to an old Roberts VHF wireless set, as she "cant hear what they are saying" on the dab radio. Perfect reception of dab, but not taken in by the digital hype.
