DSP, EQ, room-correction search for low bass treatment

It seems to be that my problem ist solved. The simple and freeware software solution "APO-Equalizer" only used for the excessive modes and only for lowering the peaks and not filling in the dips does exactly what I have hopped for. Sometimes the easiest stuff helps much better than the expansive (DIRAC).

My wife and I didn't heard any negative effect of the EQ-Settings and the effect of reducing a mode of 15dB is dramatic.

No, why should they? I don't have to turn louder, not even 1dB, I only have no more boom now.

@Old Shatterhand I went on a similar journey attempting to cure a bad 45 Hz node. Passive treatments such as GIK tri traps did nothing at this low frequency. Eventually used EQ to take the peak down. After trying lots if different settings I found the following things worked best for me
* limiting the EQ to the very lowest frequency nodes ( below 120 Hz )
* not attempting any boosting of dips
* not trying to get too flat,
These three things seemed to preserve the life of the music the best
