I don't have anything setup just now as I'm not expecting the surround speakers to arrive till next week and a poweramp for the rears for another few weeks.
I've got an OPPO 103D however, which can play m/c SACDs, downmix 5.1 to 4.0 and adjust speaker distance and level, but in my move to PC based digital playback (for both stereo and m/c), reckon I might be better using some sort of external processor/ DAC to do the above plus EQ/ room correction if possible.
If I used JRiver to do everything except as a DAC, I'd just need a m/c DAC that accepts digital via USB (an Exasound e28 for example), but if I use an external box to do everything (the Exasound only converts digital to analogue and adjust levels, I think), then one of the MiniDSPs might do the trick, but I don't know for sure. If not, is there an external box that can do all of these things?
