different Exposure 18 and 18-super?

what is the different between both PowerAmps:
* Exposure 18
* Exposure 18-super

AFAIK the 18 was made at the x- intamp time and the 18-s in the xv timrframe....

AFAIK 18 super was using MOSFETS instead of "normal" transistors like the "18".

Some people claims, that because of that, 18 sounds better than 18s ...

I was using 18 s many years ago, it was a great amp, i never had a chance to compare 18 against 18s.

Ive had both over the years. Still got 18S.
The difference was power. 60Watts for the 18 / 75 ( or 70?) Watts for 18s.
I believe this was achieved by running voltage rails at a slightly higher level. Both non regulated amps. Same Exposure trannies and same Exposure (BHC ) caps I believe.
Second hand 18s go for a premium over the 18. Both are good power amps. Well ,very good in fact for the money these days.
I recently punted a Nap 250 as comparison in my main system with 18s gave very little difference in performance to me. Also the Nap 250 wouldn't work with my back up Exposure pre amp.
To be fair though , the 250 was about due a service.
