We bought one after my other half found a roman coin while gardening. Eagerly fired it up hoping to find some more exciting items buried under the turf. What we actually discovered that there was a strong signal pretty much every few inches. After digging up about 100 bits of rusty corrugated iron, bits of lightbulbs, springs, and other assorted junk, and turning the lawn into a bit of a mess, we accepted that our sweet cottage garden was secretly a total rubbish dump and gave up. Not sure we ever used it a second time and eventually sold it on ebay, but it was definitely a bit of fun
