Comedians, Funny Folk, Live Stand-Up - Share The Laughs

Stewart Lee is the only one I go out of my way to see live.
Snap. Saw him a week ago in Kingston and he was superb ... again. Sounds like it's all off the cuff but you know every single word is planned.

Watch the episode Shilbottle on Amazon prime for a good intro.

Stewart Lee is too moany for us, and not that funny. Always comes across as preaching to the converted in a smug way, which is a shame as he is obviously very clever. For me it is often, “they are wrong, we are right” comedy, which I find tedious. “Self righteous” is how The Wife summed him up.

You could do with rereading your original post.
Especially…
“*Please avoid referring to how much you hate Bernard Manning etc.
Comedians that you dislike is a different thread. Please.*”

I respected it and refrained from posting what I think of Milton Jones.

Fair enough.

But I think you grasp the intention to not load the thread with comedians that most people would find distasteful.

A couple of others have popped up that I have no time for, but I am refraining from comment.

I think the last comedy I saw live rather than on TV was either Steven Wright or Emo Philips. That long ago!

Got it.
You only want comedians that have passed your comedy commissariat.

Quite a list.

Very broad range.

Just what is wrong with Little & Large?

Added :).

Only seen 3 in person, Bernard Manning, Chubby Brown and Steve Coogan, who (at Leeds grand theatre) was absolutely superb, doing a number of his characters, very talented and hilarious.
