Collectible Preamplifiers

Everything's over inflated IMO;-) I'll still have a 52 one of these days, nothing else satisfies.

The Croft pre amps sound superb. Very simple tube circuits and excellent phono stages built in. The old Super Micro can be had quite cheaply. Not exactly flash to look at though - hair shirt and purposeful.

I had a very early Croft Micro in 1989. I couldn't stand the poor case and cheap look, so I returned it to the dealer.

I also had a Croft Vitale 2 years ago, it is a nice sound pre amp using only 1 valve for the line stage, but the quality of the case was not up to competitors' standard. I disliked the two mono volume pots as well. However, its sound is superb.
