Chromecast Audio sound quality experiences

I'm using a Chromecast Audio into an Audiolab MDAC. The MDAC display keeps fluttering between 16 and 24 bits. Any idea where the problem might be?

I've just picked up a CCA and using with an Allo Nirvana PSU. It sounds great, is very easy to use and I'm able to stream anything I'd want to listen to.

I just need to now decide whether using the native Tidal App via the CCA is a preference over using a R-Pi with Bubble UPNP.
