I should add that the numbers I provided do not include any compensation for real-world but unknown input and output impedance. It is possible Rothwell included some compensation so maybe the numbers you measure will not be precisely as I calculated. So if you do measure the attenuators, then if you post the Rin and Rout values here, I am sure someone can do an interpretation.

There might be a simpler answer to your question. If I am right I think the Rothwells are colour coded. I have both -10dB and -20dB, one is red the other black but need to find them to confirm which way round this is.

Mine are source attenuators and -10dB are the black ones and -20dB the red. Just to clarify that the colourful part is the plastic ring around the female end of the attenuators. Hopefully Rothewell have done this on purpose :D
