Something to do with ageing of DNA? So 'older' DNA used to create the clone means the new animal starts off further down the DNA damage line and so has a shorter life?

No idea. Didn't even know you could clone dogs at all.

What happens if they extract the DNA when it's a pup and use that to clone it?
