Cheap turntable into an MC input

I am looking at buying a dirt cheap turntable from ebay and using it through my NAC82. I have moving coil boards installed. I would suspect any cheapo TT would come with an MM cartridge. What are my options?

Yeah, I just wanted to mess about with one really. I was thinking it might work with attenuators or something.

Buy a cheap TT with a MC fitted.

Or buy a SUT and plug the MM in the other way round :)

What is your definition of dirt cheap? I have a P3 with a (pretty much new) Audio Technica AT-F7 which I will be selling soon (cart is already in classifieds).

I was looking at some old jap ones for under £50.

I think you would need to be very lucky to buy a turntable and a working/no problems Mc cartridge for £50.

You will probably find somthing with an MM cartridge for that money. Then buy a cheap external M/M phono stage for £15/20 and by pass the cards in your Pre. If you are happy to sell the MC cards, that would increase your budget.
Assuming these cards are removeable !

What's the point in buying a really cheap one. Spend a bit more get a better listen and then sell it for the same money, it's not going to lose value over a few weeks.
