Anodising of itself does not change the colour of aluminium - the colours are prodiced by "dyes" added during anodising.
Brass changes colour (subtley) depending on what grade it is and can be laquered to stay bright. Apart from that,like very many metals, it can be chemically blacked.
Aluminium is a pure metal, brass is an alloy, so there are different limitations.
ok lets start again,i have a tonearm mounting collar,its made of brass which is coloured silver.
in the photo you can see the coloured finish has been rubbed thin near the allen bolt, you can also see its brass in the countersunk area of the right side allen bolt.
my question is what finish would be used to replicate this colour please?
