I have to change the belt that moves the tray in and out. It should be dead simple, but the cogged wheel has to be removed, or eased out of its bearing locations, to get the new belt around it.
What I've found on Internet is not for the CD50, but for the CD52, and calls for dismantling half the machine, including the front panel, which I would like to avoid since it is all 30-year-old plastic.
On the CD50 there is some kind of steel clip around the bearing of the cog wheel nearest the tray. I thought this might be the right path. But I hesitate to risk snapping some crucial bit of plastic.
Any ideas?
