I think it may cost more to correct than the amount I paid for it.Mine has a sticky drawer but always opens with a bit of persuasion
Might be worth your while running it by @Mike P?

That's difficult, it feeds a technics gu700 which is a purely digital amp, so when I have tried the dac on the Rotel it converts it back to digital. Considering the price I'd be surprised if there was a better cd player. 30 day trial with RS, not much to lose. This is sounding like a good call. How does it sound standalone please?
Original Rega Planet, brilliant sound.Anything on the vintage market worth looking at?
Saw a few on EBay. Possibility. I did have an Apollo at one stage. It was great but I didn’t feel it delivered much depth to the sound.Original Rega Planet, brilliant sound.

Wasn't 'stable platter' a Pioneer design? What about a Technics stable platter type?
That’s right I think.Wasn't 'stable platter' a Pioneer design?
Couldn’t agree moreI seriously recommend the (older) REGA pop-top model with the (later) WOLFSON WM8740 DAC chipset - not the earlier chipsets.
Ours is the 35TH ANNIVERSARY APOLLO SE model - pic below - and the sound quality is utterly superb!
Prior to the REGA, we were using the legendary SONY XA7ES CD-player. The REGA was like ten steps forward from the big SONY.
We also like the fact that there is no tray mechanism to wear out. You just pop the CDs into the submarine hatch, drop the top and away you go.... all very nautical.
Lastly, if you are in the UK, I really don't think you can beat the incredible REGA "forever" customer service. The REGA team fixes anything they have ever made - and most reports confirm that any later upgrades get thrown-in for good measure!
Just my 10-cents worth.
I've not come across this fault on your exact model before but I've fixed the same issue on other players by replacing the aged electrolytic capacitors around the display, which had gone very high ESR.I think it may cost more to correct than the amount I paid for it.
Let us know how you get on.My lovely partner has pulled the trigger on the Rotel Tribute CD 11 for my birthday. I’m looking forward to hearing it soon. I’m hoping it’ll last as long as my 965BX.
Very much looking forward to it as it seems rather special.Let us know how you get on.
That’s right I think.
BirthdayIt's not Christmas yet though.
