Cartridge re-tipping

Probably a stupid question, but here goes.

I have a VdH Frog Gold cartridge that could probably do with being re-tipped. Is it better to take it back to the shop where I bought it and let them handle the return to VdH, or send it directly to VdH myself?

Cartridge rebuilding is advertised on their web site so you should be able to go direct http://www.vandenhul.com/ Going through a dealer may be easier though. You'll have to weigh up the extra cost versus the hassle of doing it yourself. If you have a friendly dealer that extra cost may be minimal anyway.
