Can anyone post pictures of their Naim '3' series board mods?

Hi all

I was just wondering if those people who've used some the new Silmic II's on their 3 series boards could post any pictures they have of the work done? I'm a novice when it comes to the DIY side of things, although I'm reasonably okay with a soldering iron, and would be very grateful for any pictorial guides to changes I can make.

Thanks in advance,

Chris.

I've recently been offered a Nait 3,

Since I've never seen one,just a couple of questions ;

Are they any good ?

Are the phono boards Type 522 for MC ?

I too would really appreciate any photo's of internals boards or any advice about component changes / upgrade path.

Thanks.

Nait3 upgrade path.

The Nait3 is a great value IMO, however you must take great care with source/speaker matching: it works very nicely with easy loads, such as SBL, Proac Tablette etc (I used it with CDI/SBLs for 2 years and really liked it).

As for upgrades, I think it is more difficult to upgrade than a similarly priced (?) 42/110. However, hook the preamp board to an external PS (FlatCap seems a good value here, as well as Avondale's SPX) and it will return much dividends.

And - yes, the phono boards are 522/523, as in 102/82/92/52.
Goodluck, Yair:)
